To Use Technology in Teaching

This is a podcast in Youtube uploaded by jsdt4.
Since most of today’s students can appropriately be labeled as “Digital Learners”, why do so many teachers refuse to enter the digital age with their teaching practices?

This presentation was created in an effort to motivate teachers to more effectively use technology in their teaching.

  1. I am a teacher who would love to use more technology in my teaching; and I do already use some of what is available. All assignments are handed in over the Internet and also evaluated as well as corrected on the Internet. We use the net as a “library” fo find background information. But there are still problems: It is difficult to get the opportunity to learn what you expect us to know: When the fact is that a teacher has to educate him-/herself alone, in addition to his or her wholetime job. Where am I going to find time? My employer is not willing to give me any time off_ then I would have to pay for all costs myself, which is hardly possible at this stage of life- at the age of 54. You blame us, we blame our authorites for failing to treat older teachers with respect and secure and finance the proper furher education needed. since I use the Internet the way I do, some of my golleagues consider me as an “expert”, but I don’t know how to use your I-pods etc. Please do not blame only older teachers, our average workday has increased with many hours because of the growing digitalization; we are terribly tired and are doing our best! Remember please that not all of us were borne with a Pc on our lap/desk. By the way: How can I learn to create such a video?
